Romans 12:1 (Living Sacrifice)
1. (V1) Because of all that God has done for you, let them be a living sacrifice
a) What are general things has God done for humanity?
He provides rain for food, sun for heat, air to breathe, etc
b) What has God done for you specifically?
Salvation, answered prayer, etc
Ephesians 1:3 “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.”
c) Because of all God has done for us, we’re called to be a living and holy sacrifice
In the O.T they would sacrifice animals as a way to cover their sin
God calls us to be a living breathing sacrifice that is holy
What does holy mean?
Matthew 16:24 (Sacrifice your way)
2. (V24) If you want to be my follower
You must be willing to give up your own way (We live according to the Bible)
Take up your cross (Die to yourself or crucify the flesh)
